1917 Hall-Scott
Before WW I Hall-Scott of San Francisco and Curtiss of New York were the leading US producers of water-cooled engines. The first Hall-Scott was produced before 1908. Their stock in trade were 6-cylinder in-lines and V-8s, all water-cooled. E.J. Hall of Hall-Scott was a major contributor to the design of the famous Liberty aero engine.
Specifications: Model A-7a; four-cylinder, in-line, water-cooled; bore 5-1/4 in., stroke 7 in., displacement 606 cu. in., 100-125 hp. at 1400 rpm., weight: 410 lbs.
