TERMS OF SALE
ADMISSION, BIDDER FEES AND RESERVED SEATS
All bidders must purchase a catalog and register ($75). Bidder registration will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Friday preview) and from 7 a.m. the day of the auction. This catalog admits two adults to the Museum, the auction preview and includes two seats in the reserved bidders section. If you have received this catalog in the mail, you must still register to bid (no additional fee). Upon registration, you will be given two seat tags and a bidders card. (Attach tags to selected chairs to reserve specific seating)
METHOD OF PAYMENT
All settlements will be made on the day of the sale by cash, certified or cashiers checks, travelers checks, bank money order or personal check accompanied by a bank Irrevocable Letter of Credit presented on bank stationery (specific format and text for the irrevocable letter of credit may be found HERE). Vehicles or items purchased will not be released until collected US funds are received. CONDITIONS OF SALE
The property listed in this sale will be offered and sold under the following terms and conditions:
- All vehicles or other items in this sale are sold in as is condition, unless seller makes guarantee. All guarantees on vehicles or other consigned items are between buyer and seller and in no event shall the Museum or Auctioneer be responsible for correctness, warranties, genuineness or description of property.
- Though statements in this listing and those by the Auctioneer have come from what are thought to be reliable sources, purchaser must understand that he/she is buying property entirely upon his/her own examination and opinion. Description and representation of consigned vehicles are made solely at the discretion of consignors according to the consignment contract. The Museum does not inspect, assess or confirm the description, condition or representation made by consignors.
- Unless sale of each item is advertised or announced otherwise, each lot is offered subject to reserve price of seller. The Auctioneer retains the right to exercise the consignors reserve, up to, but not equaling or exceeding the stated reserve as indicated on the consignors contract. All transactions will be conducted according to Maine law and subject to compliance with Title II of the Uniform Commercial Code. The Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse any bid.
- The highest bidder acknowledged by the Auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the Auctioneer shall have the absolute discretion as to who was the successful bidder, or he may re-offer the disputed item for sale if he so wishes. Final sale prices are confirmed by the Auctioneer and master recorder.
- The transfer of title or ownership will be negotiated between the buyer and the consignor or seller, and in no event shall the Auctioneer or Museum guarantee title.
- Payment to consignors will be made according to the consignment contract within 10 banking days after confirmation and settlement in full from purchaser.
- All items, articles or vehicles shall be removed from the sale area by the purchaser at his/her expense no later than the first Tuesday following the sale, and if not removed by that date, the Museum may remove the property to nearby storage with moving and storage costs at the expense of the purchaser.
- All sales are subject to Maine sales tax, due at the time of payment of purchase price. Exempt sales will require completion of exempt status forms.
- Bidding on any article(s) indicates acceptance of the above terms. Information on certain vehicles was not available by publication date of this listing and will be provided at the preview and day of sale. Additional vehicles or items may be auctioned which are not represented here.
