Introduced on March 31,1932, the V-8 Ford had become a full-blown success by 1940 when this wooden-bodied Station Wagon was built. 1940 was the second year in which Ford used four- wheel hydraulic brakes and the first in which a steering-column shift lever appeared. These cars are usually referred to as "Woodies." Specifications: Model 01A; engine water-cooled V-8; bore 3-1/16 in., stroke 3-3/4 in., displacement 221 cu. in., 85 hp. Price new $950.
