Built as Indian Aces and Fours from 1927 to 1940, the Indian Four represents the end of an American motorcycle era which began with Henderson's 1911 in-line four. After selling his business to Schwinn in 1917, Henderson designed the Ace four-cylinder motorcycle. He was fatally injured on one in December 1922. In 1927, after a period of negotiation, Indian Motorcycle took over production rights to the Ace. Specifications: Engineair-cooled four-cylinder in-line; bore 2-3/4 in., stroke 3-1/4 in.
