1910 Six Passenger Surry

Named for the English County, the surrey came into existence in 1870 and quickly became a very popular family and hack carriage. It was introduced into the United States by J.B. Brewster & Co. in 1872. By the end of the 19th century, there where over one million surreys on America's roads. Prices ranged from $53 for the stock version to over $600 for the most elaborate. This example is a six-passenger, canopy-top, buckboard type.
